That Time I Chose Poorly at Summerlicious: Weslodge

Tags:

We went to Weslodge for Summerlicious. If I’m telling you the truth, all Summerlicious menus tend to have a mix of amazing choices, and some not-so-good choices. I seemed to have chosen mostly poorly.

weslodge summerlicious menu. Looks delicious right? They ran out of the pinot grigio. That was the only pinot gri they had at the restaurant. Major strike one

I’ve been to Weslodge before, and I KNEW that I wanted to get the Scotch Egg!

They tried to tell me that they put walnuts in the beet salad. It was hazel nuts. My mom’s allergic to hazelnuts…it was her birthday. I ate the nuts. She didn’t realize the menu said hazel nuts. Saw them and went “these be le hazel nuts.”

That turned out to be somewhat of a poor choice. Although it was delicious (and I think that they should sell their truffle and onion jam in jars), the portion was small in comparison to the beet salad. My family all got beet salads, and there I was, twiddling my thumbs waiting for them to finish eating while my scotch egg was already consumed.

Delicious scotch egg with onion and truffle jam. I wish I was Scottish.

It really was delicious though.

Delicious looking trout with yum yum veggies

mmmm Trout. Looks so good though right?!

Another fancy angle of my delicious trout

Let’s back up a bit though.

Trout for a garden gnome. I was actually hungry after this meal

My first thought when I saw my food was “Am I a garden gnome?” I felt kind of like a Giant.

YASSSS STICKY DATE PUDDDDDING

The best choice of the night for me was the sticky date pudding. OH MY GOD.

Banana Chocolate tart with my favourite type of tart shell

My dad got the chocolate banana tart. I loved the tart shell! Yumm.

UGH. look how delicious.

Satisfied dessert plate
