Face Swap with MAK Style

Tags:

For this super fun post, I met up with my friend and fellow blogger Mikayla (who is the content creator and creator of MAK Style) and did each other’s makeup! We both have very different styles and I thought it would be extremely fun to see her in a sexy and bronzey look. We literally ended up swapping faces. My makeup on her face, and her make up on mine.

Before I do anyone’s makeup, I always ask them to do their own foundation and concealer. I’m a poor fashion blogger, I can’t afford every colour under the beige to brown rainbow. The look that I did for Mikayla is very similar to the look that I did for my Reign Makeup tutorial. If there is one thing that I’ve learned from doing makeup for my other shoots is that you should always ask your models/friends to bring a foundation and concealer done face, their own mascara, and eyeliner (I always ask for liquid). I just don’t trust myself to 100% disinfect a mascara wand (it has way too many fibres that traps bad things), and felt tip liners.

I used a combination of my own makeup and some of Mikayla’s.

Mikayla in Maybelliene’s The Nudes palette.

For Mikayla’s eyes, I used Maybelline’s The Nudes palette .I used a nice gold shimmery colour all over her lids. I then did the corners with a nice shimmery medium brown colour. I lined the corners and the corner of the lids with a dark charcoal brown.

I swapped on some liquid liner. Both of our favourite liners is Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner in black.

Mikayla in a mix of red lipsticks.

She has great cheek bones so I wanted to really sculpt them with some bronzey contouring. I used my Jordane Cosmetics contour palette to accomplish this. To make her cheeks pop, I swatched my favourite Benefit CORALista blush on her cheeks. After I blended everything together, I wanted to give her a gorgeous red lip! I actually used two products to make her lips pop. First, I lined the lips with my Rimmel London Moisture renew lip clear liner. This clear lip liner is perfect because you never have to worry about matching colours. The first lipstick is MAC’s Ruby Woo in a retro matte. After I let this dry for a bit, I applied Sephora’s cream lip stain in Always Red.

Finished Look

For her brows, I used Anastasia’s Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade in dark brown.  To apply the pomade, I used an old liner brush that I had lying around. I thoroughly cleaned it before using. If you have an old liner brush that has started fraying but the bristles are still okay then go ahead and use it for your brows.

I finished off her lashes with a coat of COVERGIRL LashBlast mascara to make her eyes look wider, and her lashes to look sky-high.

Look just how gorgeous our girl looks! I definitely think that she should wear more red lipstick.

Mikayla also did my makeup! I have to say that it was pretty surreal when I first saw my own face. I’ve never seen my eyes done up so pink and my face so full of gorgeous glitter.

Pink-12

I knew that Mikayla was going to do me up in an all pink makeover, so I even painted my nails pink for the occasion!

Pink-14

I didn’t even know that I could look this glittery!

Pink-21

She used a pink lipstick on me that looked purple against my darker lips. It was divine.

I’m wearing:
Eyes: The Naked 3 Palette (Strange, Dust, Limit & Nooner) Stila Stay All Day black eyeliner, “Dark Brown” ABH Eyebrow Pomade NYX Rose Gold Face & Body Glitter Face: “Watts Up” by Benefit Cocoa Contour by Too Faced,  Lips: “Petal Pink” by Paladio

Pink-20

I love my new look. How about you?
