Singapore Days 1-3: Hipster Moments, Merlions & Little India

Tags:

Long story short, I slept at 4:30 am the night I got in from Taiwan. My sister and I had a little bit of catch up time while I left Gaya to go say hello to her cutie <3

We basically left the house at 10:00 am afterwards and embarked on a crazy journey. I can’t even really remember what my sister and I DID ANYMORE BECAUSE IT WAS SUCH A MASS BLURR OF THINGS. we went to Berrylite to join them in breaking the record for the most people eating frozen yogurt at the same time. We also got some free stuff! YAY! so awesomeness. I am pretty sure I ate so much stuff. Everything was so delicious.

UMM what else?! We went to see the Merlion! Before I was born my grandparents went to see the Merlion in Merlion Park. There is a picture that I grew up with wit hthem at the Merlion Park. So of course I had to go! I AM A PROUD LITTLE BEEBEE. THIS MEANS THAT i can now show it to my GRANDPA <3 He is like the number 1 man in my life; then comes my daddy, then comes my brother <3 YAYY FAMILY BEEBEES

Omg, okay then my sister took me to a mall, we went to a street where we went to do some hipster shopping! We went to China town as well to attend some artists market. It was so cool! There were so many artists selling their local wares! I even got a natural feather hair extension! It looks so awesome. I really debated it for a while but when I finally got it I was so happy. So, haha, I guess I might look a little bit different the next time you see me! It lasts 3-4 months and will grow out with my hair..so I guess the next time I donate my hair again. SIGHS.

I also bought a cool boo of poetry and got the author to sign it. I also got a bunch of postcards that were so adorable! The artists actually are going to be working with Anya, the season 9 winner of Project Runway! So cool! I really do love Singapore, every one you meet is so different yet in the end you feel like they’re family.

There were so many things that happened in the past two days with my sister. We did a bunch of local things because I didn’t want to live like a tourist! Who really wants to do that anyway right?

I got to meet up with Gaya yesterday and it was so cool! She was my own personal tour guide! She took me to Little India for lunch where I couldn’t handle the curry because I am a 1/4 Taiwanese and even that little part of me refuses to eat spicy foods haha! MMM the food was so good though! Gaya ordered mutton for us and a spinach and goat cheese type of dip. It was all so delicious. We also had a mango yogurt drink mmmmm. You eat it off of a banana leaf like how it is traditionally done! I even got a beautiful henna tattoo on the inside of wrist. HAHHA, SO MUCH YOLOING.

But no, No worries I won’t come back with a real tattoo or extra ear piercings. Gaya explained to me that henna is a plant that they grind up into a past, this makes the henna very good for your skin. yay!

Gaya and I did a lot of eating that day. But afterwards, we went to go shopping! She took me to this cute street with a bunch of hipster shops. AHHH. I was so bad though! I splurged on a very cute dress. I couldn’t help it, Gaya is not very good at convincing me not to shop. She is one of THOSE shopping buddies! The ones that know that you know it looks good so she talks you into buying it! My wallet did not have a very pleasant experience. I am however wearing this cute dress to my welcome back party..so yay!

Afterwards, I got a present for one of my friends since their birthday is coming up soon. I won’t say any more because I don’t want to ruin the surprise in case they are reading this! TEHEHE NINJA GIFTER <3

After that, we went to grab this delicious drink that has rose and lime in it. MMMM sooo refreshing! We even went to the bathroom in a hotel/office building that looks like Gotham city! I MEAN IT. On the inside, it looks like it came out of the Great Gatsby (:

After chilling for a while we booked it to boogus and had local donuts! OH MY GOODNESS. Gaya chose a green tea and almond one, and i chose an avocado chocolate one. mmmm. we shared them. and they are actually better than Tim Hortons DONUTS!! They were so delicious! After that Gaya took me to have Chicken rice. Hoinan chicken rice! IT WAS SO GOOD. Even though we couldn’t have roasted chicken or even the thigh, the steamed breast was so moist and soft! It was so delicious! We even ordered some sambal fried veggies. The ones that are like tubes? I always forget the name haha. IT WAS SO SPICY BUT SO DELICIOUS. I should have told you that I am actually addicted to sambal chilli! It’s this kind of chilli paste with a shrimp base. mmm. Our dinner even came with some soup! awesometastic! Afterwards, Gaya took me to the MRT and I managed to figure my way back!

But let’s be honest, it wouldn’t really be a me day if I didn’t get lost a little bit! In SG, they don’t announce the stops lah! YOU JUST HAVE TO RECOGNIZE IT! So, of course I got off a stop too early and was too cheap to pay the bus driver a second time so I booked it to the next stop and voila I was home! Thank you Gaya for being SUCH AN AWESOME FRIEND! <3 I had so much fun and it meant so much to me that you took the whole day to tour guide me and teach me how to be a local lah!

Sorry, I meant to make this more detailed but to be honest the days kind of melted into 1! I am a little bit confused myself at what I did and what I didn’t. I am however fully aware that I spent loads of money!
