The Princess In Wonderland
Alice Through the Looking Glass comes out today! I LOVE everything Alice in Wonderland. I especially love the creepiness of it all. It’s a great story that reminds us that sometimes as children, we can have these great egos and think that we’re so grown up, but we’re not. As an English minor I could go on and on. As a fashion blogger? I did an Alice in Wonderland inspired post! Especially since my friend and I stumbled upon the Alice Through the Looking Glass pop up shop in Toronto. We even got our makeup done by Urban Decay.
I made white tea, my sister made cookies, and I and a team of #baes made cute sweets trays. White tea is great because it is high in antioxidants. When I’m not being a poor student, I’ll buy white tea and drink a cup every morning. It helps to clear out your skin, and always makes me feel cleaner (if that makes any sense). If you can afford it, Teavana’s Silver Need White Tea is the best! If you’re poor…get the David’s Tea one.
All you need to feel like Alice is a cute blue dress, and a white collar. I went with a neckline detailing instead of an actual collar. This dress has amazing beading to make this a glammed up Alice in Wonderland look.
If you can’t find a dress that mixes both, wear a blue dress, and a white collard shirt underneath. Don’t be afraid to opt for a white collard shirt with a small pattern on it to make your outfit even cuter and with your own personality.
One of my favourite things about this dress is the deep navy colour and how it plays off of my skin tone. I personally think that almost everyone (like 98% of the world) looks fantastic in blue. You just have to find your perfect shade!
Of course you can’t be Alice without a huge bow. I opted for a bright blue hair bow. This is actually a vintage bow. It’s been sitting in this one store for like 15 years.
I’m a fairly short girl, but I’m also short waisted. I have longer legs than I have torso. I try to wear shorter dresses so that my legs appear even longer, making me “visually” taller. Pick a dress that you think works the best for your body. It’s all about looking good and feeling good!
I love these heels from Naturalizer. Mary Janes are extremely cute, and these have such cute detailing in the toe area. Naturalizer makes another pair of Mary Janes now but without the toe detailing. You’ll notice that it looks really big on my left foot…I actually have feet that are EXACTLY one size different from each other. It’s hereditary! This might also explain why I’m constantly falling and tripping. If I were actually Alice, I would definitely be falling through the looking glass.
Well, I guess I am very lucky though. If I fell down the rabbit hole, I know that I have a group of amazing friends and family who would come and find me. It took two other people to help me set up for this shoot. And one certain #Bae helped me take these amazing photos. He even knows how to pose better than I do…I mean if I fell down the hole, he might not believe the stories I tell him of Wonderland, but he would still support me…right?
Of course, you can’t be Alice without a fun lip colour. I’m wearing Have Your Cake by MAC (very fitting for an Alice in Wonderland theme). It smells delicious too; kind of like vanilla.
Before you decide to run out and watch the movie, sit down have a bite
and enjoy a cup of tea.
