To the Wild West: I made a tulle skirt

Recently I have been obsessed with the tulle skirt trend. However, I really wanted a specific emerald green colour. I figured, “What the heck? I can make one!” Trust me, it was a lot more work than I expected.

The most annoying thing about this skirt was the pattern. I bought what I thought was the easiest to use pattern ever. When I made and finished the skirt I realized that it would not GO PAST MY ASS. This pattern did not account for my “medium” sized waist having an extra large ass.

Naturally I cried my eyes out. I mean Parker even tried to help by sitting on top of my fabric. I then took my mother’s advice, and just chopped the waist off, cut the top off the skirt by a few inches to make a shorter skirt, and made a new band!

I have plans to make this skirt again…but I’m buying a larger pattern or at least another one.

I wore the skirt to Weslodge for Brunch. Don’t let the sign fool you, it is NOT Heslodge. Naturally I wore a hat…I mean it’s kinda saloon-isn right?

(If you look closely you can see my Toronto Film School Sahrita taking my photo!)

I was going to wear a button down shirt with the skirt, but I was told to dress to impress for Brunch! I wore my favourite black v-neck long sleeve body suit.

I painted my nails with Azure by Chanel. It’s a limited edition colour from a while back, so it might be hard to hunt down. It’s really just a gorgeous green metallic colour. I also wore a bow ring from Forever 21! It came with matching earrings too.

I kept my makeup simple for this look, but I still wanted a nice pop of lipstick.

I hope you enjoyed this look!
