I get complimented a lot on my eye liner. It took a lot of practise and a lot of wasted $$$s trying different liners. Asian girls have a tendency to have really oily eyelids, so when I am looking for long-lasting, I am really looking for long-lasting.
I struggled a lot to make this whole experience easier for you.
This is the only time that you will ever see me without eyeliner on! I’m going to talk to you about my 3 top eyeliner choices.
I am absolutely in love with the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. I find this eyeliner to work the best for me. You can get it at Shopper’s Drug Mart and Sephora. Go to the place you have the most points at.
The liner has a felt tip which makes the application process a lot easier. There is a lot more control with a felt tip liner because you can hold it like a pen. If you’ve never used liquid liner, try a felt tip first. Be careful, because I’ve found the tip to fray. I trim the edges with a pair of scissors.
As you can see, my eyes look more defined and less “droopy” in my left eye. I only apply liquid liner to the top of my entire eyelid to lift my eye up and out. I line my eyes differently with pencil.
This liner really does stay-all day. It isn’t water proof like it claims, but it is smudge proof. If I cry, it doesn’t smudge, it just sort of disappears. Which is also very helpful. I love the look of this liquid liner because it is thick, and crisp. However, the price has gone up over the years from $26 to $29.
The second liner that we’re looking at is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. This is also a felt tip liner so application is easy. I do find the felt tip to be bit harder than the Stila one.
I find that the formula starts very shiny (it needs a bit of time to dry, so don’t blink too much) and then dries a bit more grey than black, like a tattoo. It does have great control as you can see the difference between the lined eye (your left) and the un-lined one (your right).
I just find this liner not dark enough as the day goes by. Sure, it lasts long, but my oily lids will get it to smudge after a while. It retails for $25
Lastly, we’re looking at the NYX Vinly Liquid Liner.
The brush tip is harder to use if it’s your first time applying liner. However, I find that the brush tips are cheaper and the product lasts longer. With a felt tip, the liquid gets soaked up by the felt, with a brush you can scrape the tube and the brush soaks up less.
This liner applies thinner than the felt tips, but I still like the look. The brush takes time to get used to as well. In terms of how long it lasts, it lasts longer than the Kat Von D one, but nothing beats the Stila one.
As an over all assessment, I buy the NYX liner because it does the trick, and is only $10. It also lasts pretty long.
