Taiwan Day 2: Magic, Mosquitoes and High Heels

Tags:

I felt a little bit ripped off today because it was supposed to rain and I spent literally 30 minutes panicking to my bestie about what to wear. I had woken up at 3:30 am but decided that I needed my beauty rest. I woke up at 5:30 am with an insane sensation to use the “throne”. I was up for the good at that moment and took the time to make myself into a fabulous piece of Tiffany.

So why on earth was I really freaking out? Well, let’s be honest here I packed 3 pairs of actual shoes. I had totally forgotten that it rains a lot in Taiwan and that I had no real practical or water proof shoes outside of my heels. My bestie is a little bit umm…careless and advised me to ruin my $100 NEW gladiators for the cost of comfort. Naturally, I opted for a cute dress, tights and my high heels. The walk to school wasn’t long, but I was getting a serious case of my calves are BURNING. On my way to school, I just kept telling myself that it was a good work out. I need to keep myself looking in tip top shape you know ; )

My day at school as pretty as we only had one class to visit today. I took the time to create a presentation to teach about Canada for the students. To be honest though, I have come to realize that Canada is very uninteresting  I love being Canadian, trust me….but what do we have outside of beavers, beliebers and maple syrup? Although, my friend from the Philippines ensured me that it Canada was as interesting as can be! (Although looking back, I wonder if she was just being nice…she is a scuba instructor, swims with whale sharks and has done cliff diving).

I also got my picture taken like a celebrity for my passcard and was given lots of cool stuff! The photographer even came back to give me the extra photos! hohoho, who wants an autograph with that ; )Image

Speaking of autographs, the students actually asked me for my autograph! I really did feel like a celebrity. It was so awesome! The students are always so nice and excited to meet us.

My friend from Thailand says that she doesn’t like the food here in Taiwan because she finds the food very bland but I find the food so amazingly fabulous! I love the simple flavours; it is so yummy. Although, I could really do without the mosquitoes! I was wearing tights today and I have already gotten two bites on my legs! AHHH I AM SO ITCHY.

I did my own laundry today, and washed it by hand. It was actually very cute because my home stay mom then came out with an electrical fly swatter to try to kill mosquitoes for me so that I wouldn’t  get eaten alive by them haha! I do have to say though, that I learned not to be such a princess when I was washing my clothes by hand (I also learned that I have very weak arms; it is very hard to wring out all the water). I also quickly learned how embarrassingly colourful and lacey my undies are. oh my. It was very awkward but auntie said it would be okay to just..hang my um…delicates. But don’t worry, I am still a picky princess so they are some fabulous undies.

For dinner, my friend Daro came over again and my home stay mom or auntie as I call her ordered us pizza! IT TASTED LIKE TOKOYAKI! a pizza that tasted like freaking tokoyaki! There was another pizza that had a lot of seafood on it and the coolest wings box ever! It had fish cakes shaped like fish, french fries shaped like stars, and sausages with cheese in them, and asian chicken wings! Everything was so delicious and different from I guess “real” pizza. Before anyone hates on me for saying “real” pizza, I have been to Naples before so yes, I do actually know what real pizza is.Image

After dinner, I let my beautiful mamoola meet my homestay parents and they adored each other! Auntie thinks my mother is some fabulously young woman! (Well, that’s what my mom thinks about herself anyway hahaha; although I do have to say she does look VERY young for her age <–you know, incase she is reading this. The princess has to make sure she stays in the castle.

After diiner, Jerry my homestay brother showed me a bunch of cool magic tricks! Needless to say, I am very easily amused and found it so cool! He also showed me a bunch of his nerf guns and we all know how much I love nerf guns. Believe me, in the next few days, I will be getting my nerf on,

Alright, I am so tired, I am going to bed. sweetdreams babycakes, Don’t let the mosquitoes bite.
