Taiwan Day 13: Momma’s Day, Hot Springs & Mountain Air

Tags:

So today is Momma’s Day. I am really sad about it though because I really miss my mommy ): She literaly just sent me a whats ap message to let me know that they are eating OYSTERS. THEY ARE EATING FREAKING OYSTERS WITHOUT ME. OH MY GOODNESS.

WHAT SHE IS SO SASSY! I told her I wanted some Oysters and she messaged me to tell me that it was Mother’s Day, not Daughter’s day. Why is this woman so sassy > : ( Well, at least we know where I get it from.

For Momma’s Day, I was luckily able to Face Time my Mommy. I showed her what I got her for Momma’s Day! It was a Chanel liquid liner that you can only get in ASIA! YAY PRETTY STUFF! Afterwards I went to get ready for the HOT SPRING  I was really late though and so was Daro. I had to wait at least 10-15 minutes for either the 262 or 905 to come. I was hoping for the 905 because the 262 does this crazy loop thing and takes longer but nope. 262 it is. WHEN I GOT TO MY STOP THE BUS DRIVER WOULDN’T LET ME OFF. and everyone saw it too! like no one wanted to even tell the bus driver to open up the stupid door for me! DID I MENTION IT WAS POURING  RAIN? I thought that I could maybe at least get off at the next stop and walk it over…BUT HE DIDN’T STOP AT THE NEXT STOP! It was so stupid because I ended up exactly where I was the other day where Anky walked us to the bus stop! I had to walk across the street and pay AGAIN TO GET BACK ONTO THE 262. When I finally got to my stop again, I had to walk another 5-10 minutes to the MRT station. It was so terrible! We were supposed to meet Min at 2 and I had just met Daro at 2! It took us another 40 minutes to even bus to Min!

when we finally got to the MRT station I was so hungry but Min said you should eat 2 hours before only…but I couldn’t resist so I bought an onigiri from 711. but just as i cracked that sucker open, MIN SHOWED UP! i literally had it half way into my mouth when we had to run for the bus! did i mention it is approximately a 30-40 minute bus ride and you aren’t allowed to eat on the buses or you get fined like $240+ So what did we do? WE NINJA’D IT. I finished that sucker in like 4-5 bites! Min and Daro surrounded me and hid me from the bus camera! WHAT UP! It was so satisfying! YUM.

When we finally got to the top of the mountain/country side we walked through the old street! OH MY GOODNESS IT WAS SO PRETTY THERE. Auntie Jenny took us to the Aboriginal museum. It was free so we were like WHAT UP LET’S GO! it was actually so cool! It reminds me a little bit of the Canadian Aboriginals. They used to have face tattoos too! They use the really painful needles with a hammer and everything to tatto their FACES! FACES PEOPLE. These aboriginals are SO HARD CORE that they LET PEOPLE HAMMER LIKE 30 NEEDLES AT THE SAME TIME INTO THEIR FACES!

Walking through the old street was so cool! There were a lot of Japanese influences and Min wouldn’t stop FREAKING OUT about the mjoi! (WHAT A CUTIE)  We walked through the rain and it was pretty fun in our umbrellas. NOT TO MENTION THAT my umbrella totally matched my dress! I was using the super floral umbrella with my super floral dress! YAY MATCHING GIRLYNESS!  Wulai literally looks like it came out of Spirited Away. It was so beautiful. Here was this beautiful little street in the middle of a mountain! There was flog swirling around the mountains and waterfalls and the rain. It just looked so beautiful that and was so breathtaking!

When we finally got to the hot spring, it turns out that they are inside! We got to have our own room! It is so weird! There is a super clean toilet in there, a shower, a sink and two bath tub like things!  There was also free water for all of us to keep ourselves hydrated. The water is actually from the water falls! There is a bathtub tank thing for cold water, and another one for hot water. The awkward part was that we all had to change into our bathing suits…SO AWKWARD. and Daro and I had to pee! So I sent them all out so I could pee and then change. TEEHEE. We also had to wear shower caps before going into the water as well as to take a shower because they don’t want you to contaminate the water… Oh my goodness though, the water was soo good. We could feel our worries just melt away. But there is a rule that you can’t sit in there for more than 15 minutes or it will mess with your heart rate so we had to get out every once in a while.  I even tried the super cold water tub! I FELT LIKE SUCH A CANADIAN! Min took a video of me taking a polar bear dive haha the water was so cold that the best that I could do was to sit in it, I couldn’t even put my whole body into it. We had the room for an hour and it was actually just so awesome. Auntie Jenny said that different hot springs have different types of uses. The one that we went to was for making your skin soft and supple. HO HO HO beautiful skin. We should have dunked our faces into that! Auntie Jenny also said that the sprigns at Beitou have a very strong smell while the ones at Wulai don’t.

Afterwards Auntie Jenny, who seems like such a mommy brought out some juice boxes for all of us! It tasted like Pacari. It was pretty good actually! Auntie said that you should drink it after you are in the hot spring!  She also had a bunch of snacks in her purse! JUST LIKE MY MOMMY JENNY (:

Afterwards, she took us back to the old street and we got to walk around different souvenir shops and Min and I bought and shared a super box of moji! There was assorted moji and MOJI BAKED INSIDE OF A COOKIE! It was so delicious!

We also had dinner there and it was delicious and weird at the same time! The vegetables literally tasted like MOUNTAINS. I was so confused! But there was some super delicious pork dish, and it is made from WILD BOAR IN THE FREAKING MOUNTAINS! It was sooo delicious, but I have noticed that they are big on onions here. Most of the dish was onions!  There also this delicious chicken soup mmmm. It felt so refreshing. and having just stepped out of the hot spring it felt like such a relaxing day! We also tried sticky rice cooked inside of a bamboo. The only bad thing about the day was at the end when we were waiting for the bus THERE WERE LIKE A MILLION AND ONE MOSQUITOES AND SCARY BUGS EVERYWHERE. They kept flying around and they were so scary and ugly. and oh my goodness. I almost cried. When we finally got onto he bus at 7 Min and I fell asleep and napped ^^ When we got to the MRT station it really only took us about 30 minutes to get home…BUT. Knowing me, I had to wait for the next bus after my 10 minute walk to the bus stop for like 30 minutes! I could have just walked home in the rain faster. Luckily, I had my iphone on me so it was pretty awesome being able to listen to my indie music and youtube covers in the rain. Kind of calming except for the LOUD WOMAN AND MAN SPEAKING SOME HARSH MANDARIN. I am trying to enjoy my music here!

By the time I got home, my feet were soaked and it was 9:30 -.- I got home and finally face timed my mommy ^^ HI MOMMY!

When I finally got into the shower, I used my new shampoo…and I don’t know if I like the smell too much but it did make my hair feel so good. I also busted open my NEW DOVE SOAP! I am an awesome smelling chick right now ^^

Anyway, I am so tired right now. Nap time.

Yours till’ I fall I asleep,
